Annapurna Base Camp Trek
The Annapurna area was first explored by the British Adventurer Col. James O.M. 'Jimmy' Roberts in 1956 who exposed to the world to what he believed was the 'Sanctuary of Gods', hence christened as the "Annapurna sanctuary" ever since.
This trek is amongst the most popular trekking destinations in Nepal due to its surrounding outstanding views. North from Pokhara, trek through small villages and verdant rhododendron forests into the surrounding ice and snow. Upon return to Pokhara, pass through the popular Ghorepani village where the Pun Hill viewpoint allows for spectacular views of Dhaulagiri, over 8000m, and the distinctive unsummited Fish Tail.
