Festivals of Arunachal Pradesh

Day 1: Feb. 02 Sunday-
Arrive in Calcutta after midnight on your international flight where you will be met and transferred to your hotel. You will have a half day at leisure to relax and freshen up before boarding the overnight train to Guwahati at 1550hrs. You will have an air-conditioned compartment with bedding and dinner.
Day 2: Feb. 03 Monday-
Arrive by train into Guwahati at 0945hrs and drive 220km (4 hours) to Kaziranga Park. At the park, we will be taken out for an afternoon of game viewing. Overnight at the resort.
Day 3: Feb. 04 Tuesday-
Drive 310km to Itanagar, the capital of Arunachal Pradesh. This is an historic city and very intriguing place where the tribal world and the modern world meet. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 4: Feb. 05 Wednesday-
Photograph the sites in the city of Itanagar. Drive to Ziro 180km. Ziro is a hill station enclosed by blue pine clad rolling hills. This is the home of the Apatani people. Overnight camp.
Day 5: Feb. 06 Thursday-
Drive 40km to participate in the Booriboot festival for tribal photography. Overnight camp.
Day 6: Feb. 07 Friday-
Raga - Photography tour of Ziro. Overnight camp.
Day 7: Feb. 08 Saturday-
Drive from Ziro 190km (7 hours) to Daporijo. Along the way we will visit and photograph the tribal villages of Raga Nishi, Hillmiri and Tagin. Safari tents.
Day 8: Feb. 09 Sunday-
Drive from Daporijo to Along 190km. Photograph along the way.
Day 9: Feb. 10 Monday-
Camp and photograph the Adi Gallong tribal people in Along. Here, we will be visiting the tribal villages of Jirdin, Kabu, and Kayang. We will also be crossing a hanging bridge over the Siang River. Trek 10-12km after crossing the bridge to Komsing village. Safari tents.
Day 10: Feb. 11 Tuesday-
Drive from Along to Pasighat 180km, the oldest town of Arunachal Pradesh. Established in 1911, Pasighat is presently the headquarters of the east Siang District and situated on the right bank of the River Siang (local name for the river is Bramhaputra). Here, we will visit Pangin tribal villages along the Siang River. Overnight camp.
Day 11: Feb. 12 Wednesday-
Pasighat/Dambuk/Pangin: 120km drive to explore the region. Overnight camp.
Day 12: Feb. 13 Thursday-
Drive to Roing and explore and photograph the Indu-Mishimi tribe. Overnight camp.
Day 13: Feb. 14 Friday-
Early morning drive to Dibrugarh. Arrive by late evening. We will drive to the Bramhaputra river bank and board the ferry to cross to the other side of the river. We will camp along the river.
Day 14: Feb. 15 Saturday-
Explore and photograph Dibrugarh at leisure. Dibrugarh is the Tea Hub in upper Assam and is located on the southern bank of the Bramhaputra River. It is the gateway to the "Hidden Land".
Day 15: Feb. 16 Sunday-
Board the train at Dibrugarh Station departing at 1700hrs. Overnight journey back to Calcutta.
Day 16: Feb. 17 Monday-
Arrive in Calcutta at 0700hrs and enjoy a full day of sightseeing, including a visit to Mother Teresa Ashram. After midnight, connect to you international flight home.

- One night hotel, on arrival, in 3* hotel in Calcutta with breakfast.
- Overnight train journeys by train with bedding in air-conditioned compartment.

- Overnight camp/guest houses and hotel in Itanagar.
- Dibrugarh Tea Garden House accommodations.
- All meals inclusive when camping or staying in guest houses. Emphasis will be more on camping.
- Porters for carrying equipment in the interiors.

- Entry permit and $50 government royalty fee.

- International airfare.
- Tips and gratuities to the porters/drivers.
- Personal expenses like telephone calls, laundry, etc.
- Any additional expenses where the itinerary has to be rescheduled for any reason due to calamity of nature. All humanitarian help shall be facilitated.
- Any aspect not mentioned above in the "services included".
- No meals in Calcutta are included on the full day sightseeing or monument fee.
- Any donations made to the tribal villages including the donation for any arrangement of local dances requested by passengers.
